I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years. I studied, practiced and taught Astanga Yoga for several years before beginning my formal yoga teacher training. I graduated from the Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training program in Lenox, MA in 2001. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, CPR and First Aid Certified and have also been certified as an AFAA Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Trainer.
I have extensive experience providing group yoga classes and private yoga sessions. I have worked with various local organizations including schools, high school and university athletic departments and non profits. I owned and operated a yoga studio in Seacoast NH for a few years before I decided that I preferred to be out teaching yoga in the community in a variety of settings to people who may not necessarily make their way to a yoga studio for a variety of reasons. I founded My Om Yoga on the principle that yoga can be customized to serve the specific needs of each individual or group.
I continue to enjoy and explore various styles of yoga and fitness. I love to hike, ski and began running just a year and a half ago! The heart of my teaching follows the Kripalu yoga philosophy as a practice that enriches all aspects of wellness: physical, emotional and spiritual. My multi-level Yoga classes incorporate breathwork, warm-ups, postures and always (everyon'es favorite) relaxation. My students usually report a sense of improved well-being after just a few classes!
